Qualcomm has reportedly started testing the forthcoming Snapdragon 810 processor, Fudzilla reports. The Snapdragon 810 chipset packs in eight 64-bit cores and supports Category 9 carrier aggregation with download speeds going up to 450Mbps. It will be used in most of the flagship smartphones and tablets next year.
One of the biggest improvements the LTE-capable Snapdragon 810 Cat 9 processor offers is the 1.5x faster peak download speeds compared to the widespread Category 6 modem. “Transitioning from Category 6 to Category 9 LTE-A connectivity will mean 1.5x faster peak download speeds, swift application response times, reliable connectivity and connections to the fastest networks,” said Enrico Salvatori, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm Europe to Fudzilla.
